I just thought of how you can compromise with continuing the Beachside story and reduxing it. You mentioned here fav.me/d7dc5e2 that T.K. was going to explain some changes to her attire via breaking the fourth wall. Perhaps she can also do this with other changes that you want to make (although they may be minor ones )
